how can my major make the world a better place
I used to think that studying visual arts wasn't something very useful for the world, and indeed, it isn't the most useful thing to do, an artist will never be able to stop global warming or interact diplomatically with aliens (which is a work that is determinant for the future) . However, I think that making the world a better place is not a giant requirement either, it can be small actions at times, such as using recyclable materials to put paints or occupying old clothes to clean brushes. I think that if I am an arts teacher later, I will be able to change the lives of the students more, perhaps I could teach them to de-stress with art, or to express complex emotions through ceramics, and what is more important: teach critical thinking, so people could make good decisions. Also, if I still studying and majoring in the art maybe I could be able to heal people through the art therapy.
In conclusion, after saying all this, I realize that art is useful because if people are critical and healthy the world changes because different decisions are made in politics and different cultures are created.
